Now that the sun is shining and the temps have jumped back up to bearable levels, we’re itching
to pull the grill out. Join us as we fire up the barbecue and try these kabob recipes while you’re at
it 👨‍🍳

Grill Prep
Before you fire up and begin to barbecue, you need to get your grill back in tip-top shape! Here
are a few tips to make sure it’s ready for all of the cookouts you’ll be fueling this summer.

1. Check your fuel line – make sure there aren’t any cracks! A good way to do this is by
brushing soapy water along the line and connections. If you see bubbles while the gas is
running, tighten the connections or replace your line.
2. Check for rust, especially if you store your grill outside in the elements for the winter.
3. Ensure no bugs or rodents made a home inside of the grill.
4. Remove debris from the flame tamers using a wire brush – use the brush to clean the
portholes as well.
5. Soak your grates with 2c of vinegar and 1c of baking soda. Then rinse with water and
wipe clean.
6. Wipe down the exterior with soapy water to ensure that everything is spiffy clean and
ready to rumble.

NOW to Actually Grill…
Yes, it’s time! Finally! For each recipe, preheat the grill to medium-high heat, and be sure to soak
the skewers in water for 20 minutes! Combine ingredients in a large bowl, condiments included,
before adding to skewers. Char on the grill for 7-10 minutes, flipping partway through.

Sausage and Pepper Kabobs
Ingredients
1 package Uncle Charley’s Hot Italian Sausage, sliced into 1-in medallions
3 bell peppers, cut into 1-in pieces
1 red onion, cut into 1-in pieces
10 baby bella mushrooms, halved
4 T olive oil
2 t dried oregano
1 T dried parsley
½ t garlic powder
1 t paprika
Salt and pepper
Fresh parsley, chopped (add after grilling)

Hawaiian Kabobs
Ingredients
1 package Uncle Charley’s Pork Sausage, sliced into 1-in medallions
3 bell peppers, cut into 1-in pieces
1 red onion, cut into 1-in pieces
2 c chopped pineapple
½ c barbecue sauce
3 T pineapple juice

Kielbasa and Shrimp Kabobs
Ingredients
1 package Uncle Charley’s Kielbasa, sliced into medallions
7 oz jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 t olive oil
2 T Cajun seasoning
⅓ c mayonnaise
1 T lemon juice

Oktoberfest Sausage Kabobs
Ingredients
½ package Uncle Charley’s Pork Sausage, sliced into medallions
3 T Dijon mustard
2 T lime juice
2 T olive oil
4 oz red cabbage, chopped into 1-in pieces
1 Honeycrisp apple, chopped into 1-in pieces
1 red pepper, chopped into 1-in pieces
3 c Brussel sprouts, halved

Mustardy Corn and Sausage Kabobs
Ingredients
1 package Uncle Charley’s Sweet Italian Sausage, sliced into 1-in medallions
2 large ears of sweet corn, cut into 2-in pieces
1 large bell pepper, cut into 1-in pieces
⅓ c Italian salad dressing
1 T yellow mustard
